Nürnberger Bratwurstdorf (Nuremberg Sausage Village)

"These sausages are to my stomach the most beautiful forget-me-nots", thus raved poet Jean Paul on the topic of Nuremberg roast sausages. So it is maybe a bit unusual, but really most fitting that Nuremberg sausages get their own festival. Because these tasty sausages which "tickle many a palate" – together with spicy gingerbread and the Christmas Market – are among the best loved characteristics of our city and – after years of effort by the City – are now finally even protected by EU legislation! With tongue firmly in cheek, and with a bow to this delicacy from Nuremberg's days as City of the Empire, the city celebrates "its" sausage with a "Sausage Village". On Trödelmarkt, visitors can enjoy culinary delights and entertainment, all on the sausage topic.
